This is a really great question! If you really want to paint with cold wax medium/oils on stretched canvas, then keep the ratio of cold wax medium to your oils to no more than 25% . If you use more than 25% cold wax medium to oils, the paint film will be too fragile for any type of support that flexes, so it is recommended you work on a rigid surface such as a wooden panel.
