Yes, but keep in mind that you will need to heat gently to prevent the fabric (ie, canvas) from catching fire – but of course you would be heating wax over the fabric, and hopefully not the fabric itself! I have recently incorporated a t-shirt weight fabric into my encaustic painting and it worked just fine.
